It’s that time of year when Sunday wouldn’t be complete without a roast dinner. There is nothing better than enjoying a chilled Sunday afternoon as dinner cooks away in the kitchen. Additionally, no roast dinner is complete without a generous helping of Sticky Red Cabbage Cooked In The Slow Cooker recipe for roast dinner. And even better this is Slimming World friendly red cabbage, delicious and low fat.

The challenge for me has been finding a Slimming World Red Cabbage recipe. Not because I religiously follow slimming world. More that I try to ensure I substitute recipes where I can to live a balanced lifestyle and still taste delicious.

As a result, this sweet slimming world red cabbage recipe is deliciously sweet and tasty but only has 1.5 syns per portion. This is a game changer for me, as the recipe I have been using for years has a LOT of butter in. Now don’t get me wrong it tastes AMAZING. But it’s nice to have a low fat healthy alternative. And its nice to have a few recipes for red cabbage ready to use depending on how much time I have.

Not only is it packed with vitamin c, it contains fibre to aid digestion and can also help keep inflammation at bay. Add the fact that it’s fat free and delicious cooked and served raw makes it a wonder vegetable perfect to serve with a steaming hot pie or Sunday roast.

Can you tell I love cabbage? Especially sweet red cabbage on roast dinner. But seriously, how many vegetables can you cook up to taste so sweet and delicious?

If you don’t want to cook in the slow cooker, or do not have the time place in an oven proof dish and cover with foil, cooking this way is quicker. I would expect it to take 2 hours in the oven.
